Where to get startedIdeally you will starting this course when you are preparing to move your puppies out of the whelping box and into the weaning pen. Because puppies don’t have the ability to navigate or comprehend crates earlier there is no reason to introduce crates before the puppies are ”awake” and mobile. Some students may have older puppies, already in the weaning pen, and in that case you will start as soon as you gather the needed supplies. •We will be focusing on setting the stage for our puppies, by arranging our weaning pen to facilitate both litter box use and clean crates.•We will be thinking about our puppy’s point of view, the PPOV, as we make our crates enticing places to rest.•You will be learning about, and considering, many of the different pros and cons of the choices you face as you set up your puppy’s environment.•You will consider different types of crates, chews, bedding, and litter box placement based on your needs.Setting us, and our puppies on our way towards confidence and competence in coming chapters.
